Thank you!
I’ve been meaning to thank everyone for their recent comments and e-mails! I appreciate my readers, and that you take the time to comment.
Shelagh (that’s my mum!) commented that I get a lot of visitors to my blog, and asked me if I know everyone who comments. She also said that she has followed links, and visited other blogs, and has wanted to comment on other blogs, but didn’t know if that was allowed.

I know that I don’t get as many visitors to my blogs as others in stitching blog land, but I’m thrilled with the visits that I do get! My monthly visits in the past 12 months (I moved my blog from blogger to WordPress in November ‘06) has ranged from a low of 1,452 visits in May ‘07, to a high of 3,562 in July. Since July, I’ve always had more than 2,500 visits a month, and since I don’t blog every day, I typically get 140 visits on a day when I do blog. My highest number of visitors in one day was 331 visits on November 13.
As to whether I “know” all the people who comment on my blog? No, I don’t. I have met less than a dozen of the the women who visit my blog on a regular basis, but I feel like I “know” most of you, either through your own blogs, or through e-mail. I count a number of you as “friends”, even though I’ve never had the pleasure to meet IRL (“in real life”). I hope that one day, I’ll be able to remedy that.
What’s the etiquette on commenting on blogs? I told mum that if you can read someone’s blog by visiting a link in my posts, or on my blog roll, then the blog is public, and you are welcome to read, and encouraged to comment (if they have comments enabled). I explained that when I comment on a blog for the first time, I’ll usually make a comment as to how I found their blog, so they don’t wonder who I am. I’ve had more than one e-mail from someone asking me if they know me, because in the early days of blogging, I would comment without “introducing” myself.
So, mum, you should feel to comment on any blogs you visit. I’m sure the bloggers will be thrilled!
As a follow-up to my “disciplined” post, I followed the advise of a few of you, and picked out 2 more smaller projects to work on. I have two Little House Needleworks pieces that I’m currently working on, so they are not “new” starts, so I don’t feel so guilty about the lack of discipline. Neither of my “major” pieces is suitable for travelling with, so it makes sense to have a couple of smaller projects on hand.
Thanks again for taking the time to read my blog! If you don’t already have the password for my “personal” posts, I’d be happy to give it to you (if I “know” you). You just need to send me an e-mail. I know there’s no real “privacy” online, since anyone could copy & paste what I post, but I feel just a little more comfortable knowing that trolls aren’t likely to be reading those posts. And if they are, they usually just keep their opinions to themselves (or post elsewhere, but not here!) C’est la vie.

You should tell your mother that most bloggers welcome comments, and if they’ve got their comments enabled, GO FOR IT!
I rarely comment, but I lurk on your blog all of the time. Congrats on all of the visitors/commentors! Yay you!
That’s a lot of visitors, Susan! How wonderful.
Take care, Sue
Waow! That’s a lot of visitors !!! I don’t think I have more than 56 visitors a day …:) Tell your mom I’ll be happy to have her visit and comment on my blog
I read your blog each time you post and comment whenever I have time but I’m not sure you notice me
Have a great day !!!
What a wonderful amount of visitors you have coming – its so exciting isn’t it, when you think all those people love reading your blog.
Most bloggers always welcome comments too tell your mum, and its ok to comment when you’ve gone through someone elses links to get to that blog.
In answer to your question you asked me today – No I didn’t make the tassel, I’m not clever enough, though I wish I could. I bought it in a little interior design shop. The scissors are soft pink and white and I got them from my LNS.
wow, that’s a LOT of visitors to your blog!!! Suz
Hi Susan~ Thank you for dropping by my blog and commenting! Its those comments that allow me to search out new-to-me blogs and meet lovely new people! I’m looking forwards to coming back and seeing the great things you are working on!
I count you as a friend, Susan. =) I hope the next 6 weeks before your move go smoothly and that after you are happier than ever!
I read your blog often , but don’t comment. I found it on the sidebar of another blog. I stitch and love to read and look at other stitcher blogs. I also had the priviledge of going to Chicago twice and loved the city, so your blog is all the more appealing because of that, and I have an eight soon to be nine year old son, who loves Legos.
Next time I go on to a blog I will comment.
Wowsers!!! I think I have had about 1900 *total* visitors to my blog since I started in April last year. And a lot of them are Google searches that end up there one way or another. =)
Have fun working on the smaller pieces!! And if you are ever in Atlanta, I’d love to meet you IRL.
Wow that’s a lot of visitors!! I love having visitors to my blog and also welcome comments as I’m sure most bloggers do:)
I read your blog quite a lot but don’t always comment on it. I know I always appreciate comments, it’s nice to know that people actually read all the waffle you’re putting on there (talking about myself here LOL) and take the time to make a comment.
