And the decision is…
We’re going to Dallas!
But… Not until the end of the school year. We haven’t told DS as yet – he knew I went to Dallas last weekend for work, but that was about it.
I don’t plan on telling him immediately – I don’t want to disrupt the remainder of the school year, so I’ll wait until closer to the move.
I promise there will be one last GTG before I go!

Oh Susan, I will miss being able to get together with you, but I am excited for you and I know you will be happy in Dallas. Wonderful news that they will let you finish out the school year here too. That should help make the transition easier.
Great news Susan! I know you will miss Chicago, but it sounds like you’ve made the best decision for you and your family. Your ds will adjust. They are pretty adaptable when they are so young. I was worried about my ds in the move, but he’s doing fine! Good luck!
What a great new adventure for you! You are so fortunate that the company is allowing you to wait until the end of the school year. They must really value you! I hope the move brings much happiness to you and your family!
I lived in a ton of different places before I left home for the university. A move at this age is more of an adventure for children. My worst moves were during high school. I hope you truly enjoy Texas. Just be prepared to buy DS some cowboy boots.
Welcome to Texas!!!!
I am so excited for you!!!
Congratulations. It sounds like its going to be an exciting time for you and your family.
AWESOME!! That’s great news! It’s nice they will let you wait until the end of the school year! YAY
Suz
Congratulations, I hope the move works out for you all
That is great news! How nice that you can wait until the end of the school year. I’m sure DS will have no trouble adjusting – it will be a huge adventure for him. The best of everything to you in the move.
Welcome to Texas! I’m so excited for you!!! I’m a little sad I won’t be moving back to Houston because I have no problems driving from Houston to Dallas for GTGs and I’d love to meet you.
I’m sure you’ll love it there when you get settled in. Again – Huge huge CONGRATS!
I had a feeling you were leaning towards Dallas. Kids have no concept of time, so it is best to wait until you are ready to move before telling ds. =)
Congrats!
Well, I’ll miss having you here, but I know you’ll love Dallas. And it’s awesome that they’re willing to wait until summer so Boy can finish the school year and you both have time to get used to the idea and pack and so on.
Congratulations! It’s great that your son can finish the school year before you go.
Congrats Susan! I think this move is very positive for you and your family.
That’s great news for you and DS – and good news that he gets to finish the school year so the move is not quite as traumatic. I have to admit when I moved from the UK to NZ as a child I seem to have blocked out most of my childhood memories from the UK (not sure why), but it was the best decision my parents could ever have made – we had a much better life in NZ than we ever would have had in the UK, I think. Good luck with the rest of the preparations closer to the time!
I’m so excited for you! I’m sure, in time, you’ll come to love Dallas/Ft. Worth every bit as much as you love Chicago. It will be a whole new adventure for Ethan. I look forward to a GTG before you leave Chicago.
Congratulations Susan. I hope this is a wonderful new start for you and your family.
Hi Susan! I was just going through my email when I came across the one we exchanged a few weeks ago, and I wondered if you had made a decision. I’m so happy for you! I get back to Grapevine (really close to Keller) about once a year or so … maybe we could meet up sometime! Congratulations and best of luck in the future. I think you will really like your new home.
Your LHN neighborhood looks awesome framed!
Congrats on making a decision! I’m looking forward to the GTG!
Huge congrats Susan! I know it was a big decision for you to make
.
Best of luck with the move, Susan!! I hope you are fabulously happy in Dallas.
Congratulations, Susan! Not an easy decision, but one I’m sure is just right!
