Oh the weather outside is frightful…

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we’ve no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Unfortunately, I do have places to go – I don’t have the luxury of sitting at home in my apartment – I have to get out there into the weather to get myself the 65 miles to work…

I discovered on Friday morning, in the middle of the ice storm that we had on Thursday night and in to Friday  that although my winter boots are delightfully warm and toasty (with a thinsulate lining) they are, unfortunately, not waterproof.

Yesterday was officially the first day of winter, but already we’ve had something like 8 “snow events” this December. In my part of the world (NW Indiana), we get far more snow than in downtown Chicago (because of the lake effect). There’s two thoughts that keep me going through the continuing barrage of snow and frigid temperatures – 1) at least I haven’t lost power – it’s toasty warm in the apartment, and 2) this time next year, I’ll be living in Texas, and although the temperatures appear to be chilly there at the moment, it’s nothing like being in Chicago.

The picture at the top of the post is of the ornament that I received from Holly last weekend. The picture’s not the greatest, but you get the idea. Isn’t it adorable?

I’m glad the ornament matches your others, at least in color anyway. ;-)

UGH! The weather is totally beating us up here in WI too! Thank God I finally convinced Sean to buy a snowblower! Hope you manage to stay warm and dry for the duration. :)

We have at 18″ on the ground today, with more coming tonight, or so they say. Thank goodness for snowblowers. :-) Be safe!

Ok so the weather here isn’t great but we so rarely get snow and I’m really thankful for that. I love your ornaments and just wanted to wish you a very Merry XMas and a happy & healthy New Year. Lots and Lots of Love Patti xxx

Sorry to hear about all the snow, we had 30c yesterday and a very hot wind, bushfire season. I would love to have a white Christmas, but only for the day.

Respond now.
